ABOUT ME

Welcome to my blog, where sports, technology, and analytics unite. My name is Stephen James, and I bring a unique perspective shaped by over two decades of service, leadership, and an emerging passion for information technology. I have spent the last 21 years proudly serving in the United States Air Force. My military career has taught me the importance of discipline, adaptability, and problem-solving, equally critical in the fast-paced, constantly evolving IT landscape. While my professional background has primarily been in the technical trade, I've always had a deep curiosity for how systems work behind the scenes, particularly in sports and data. My initial exposure to IT came through academic coursework, which introduced me to topics like data structures, networking fundamentals, and programming basics. Though I would currently consider my knowledge foundational, I am fully committed to building upon it through structured learning, practical application, and real-world problem-solving. This blog will serve as a reflection of my journey as a student of information technology but as someone eager to fuse personal passions with professional goals. One of those key passions is sports, especially football and basketball. I'm a lifelong supporter of several franchises and collegiate teams, and my ultimate aspiration is to become a sports data analyst. Whether it's working for a major university, an NFL organization, or an NBA franchise, I want to use advanced analytics to help teams gain a competitive edge. I'm particularly fascinated by performance metrics, predictive modeling, and the use of real-time data in strategic decision-making. I'm eager to understand how IT systems support large-scale data infrastructure, especially within sports organizations. Thank you for visiting my blog.

I look forward to sharing my learning experiences, projects, and insights as I work toward achieving my career goals in the ever-expanding IT and sports analytics field.
